Sean,

Yes, I'm quite happy with the XTranslate feature in TRADOS. Since it works
on phrases and sentences rather than on words, a higher percent on the total
matches are now 100 % matches (compared to when TRADOS didn't have
XTranslate).

When we send the XML files to the translation vendor for a new translation
project, they translate the files, send them to different FLIR personnel for
validation and then return both translated XML files and the XTranslate
translation memories (*.ttx files) to us. We then check in both the XML
files and the TTX files in the version control software and freeze the
version.

The next time an update of that particular translation is needed, we send
them the latest TTX, which blocks out all 100 % matches for the translator.

Best regards,
Mats Broberg
