What I see is an agenda. An agenda regarding many concepts, very few of which
are related to technical communications. This topic inflames a lot of people
who inevitably have an irrational emotional reaction. This is usually in the
form on whimpering anecdotes of questionable validity about how the evil
corporate masters abused and mistreated them, left them for dead, and handed
"their job" to some foreigner. Such anecdotes are often used as justification
for xenophobic and/or racist commentary.

As such, its a dangerous topic. One that often leads to hostility and emotional
outbursts and not a rational, intellectual discussion of the concepts at hand.
I agree that it would be an interesting topic to discuss. But not when you have
people who consistently are incapable of staying on topic and must resort to
name calling and semantic arguments.

Perhaps the original message in question did not fully elucidate that point.
But it did open the door and Eric slammed it shut. Perhaps Eric reacted too
soon. Nevertheless, I can understand why. This exchange we're having is
indicative of how defensive and accusatory people get over this topic.
