Hello Paul,

I understood what you meant. All I was pointing out is that, in my opinion
and as a contributor to Open Source projects, that there is a payment.

To me not all compensation is in the direct form of monetary exchange, some
payment methods are indirect. I take the word payment and equate it to one
form of reward. Reward may be directly financial or a license to own the
software, advertising, networking, status elevation, satisfaction derived
from contribution, etc.

Perhaps this is indicative of the difference between people who contribute
to Open Source projects and people that do not because they do not see
payment attached.

Much of this thread has debated the issue of motive. I think that your post
and my reply just highlight the point.
