So far as I know, this is just "the way we have always done it". The dead
hand of history... Want some poison Kool Aid? It's pink and yummy this time.

Not our job to change this. The parameters have been made very clear on this
project. We are just trying to deliver something slightly useful that is
within the parameters.

The parameters are such that we probably cannot, but my delusions get me out
of bed in the morning.
