Nope. As I said in the earlier message, you specify a preferred width for each column in the table. This is not a table attribute, but a column attribute.

1. In Word, select a column of the table you want to "stretch."

2. From the Table menu, select Table Properties.

3. On the Column tab, specify the preferred width of the field.
(In the compiled HLP file, that'll be the minimum width--
it won't get any narrower than what you specify here.)

4. Click on the Next Column button, and repeat the process for
each column in the table.

If you don't set a preferred width for a given column, that
column won't "stretch."

Nope. That's nothing to do with this. (That affects how text flows around the table in print. I don't think it's even recognized in WinHelp.)

That's up to you. As I said in the earlier message, you have to experiment with various column width ratios to get the effect you want.

For example, say you wanted to mock up a bullet list with a two-column table. You might put graphics in a narrow fixed-width column on the left, and text in a wider "preferred width" column on the right. The one on the column needs to be large enough to accommodate the graphics, but I can't tell you how wide that is--you have to experiment til you get what you want.

I hope the explanations about are sufficient.
