Are these titles devised byI've always thought they were devised by writers with a desperate need to feel that they were important.
Certainly, I've heard of writers using inflated diction such as "information design" to describe what they were doing - and there was no sign of a flame-thrower at their backs coercing them into being pretentious, either.
Personally, I'm content to call myself a writer - even "author" sounds too grandiose to my ear. True, writing may not be all I do, but, then, who thinks that managig is all that a manager does?
