Two possibilities (using MacOS as an example):

1. On the newly supported OSes, this OS-specific library adds
functionality. You call routines in both the base library
AND in the OS-specific library directly.

Call it the "add-on library for MacOS" the first time;
after that, just call it the "add-on library" or the "MacOS
library."

2. On the newly supported OSes, you don't use the base library
directly; instead, you call functions THROUGH the OS-specific
library.

Call it the "Mac API" or the "Mac library." If you want to
use a single generic term that doesn't actually mention the
OS, call it the "adaptor library."

If you can manage to put it and the base library into a single
installer, then "Mac library" or "Mac API" would be even more
appropriate.
