Also: Look closely at their technology, do some research, and maybe you
will find some ways to line it up with your past experience. Funny
thing about these highly specific systems is that when you look at
them, it's just the same old concepts, and the same old client-server
or tiered enterprise architecture shared by every major business IT
system.
DIfferent business systems usually don't incorporate different
technologies. They are just implementations of the same old
technologies that you probably already know. That's why consultants,
such as security consultants and technical writing consultants, feel
completely justified in offering their services to many different
business domains.
