Select the block of text that the graphic is buried in.
Cut it.
Then select Edit, Paste Special, Plain Unformatted Text (or whatever's
closest) to paste the text back where it was.

The graphic should be gone, but you'll need to make sure you attribute the
appropriate styles to the text you've just pasted.
