Tech writing and journalism really can't be compared
money-wise, unless the journalist is a full-time
employee and is paid regardless of # of published
words.

But, if we evaluate tech writing salaries on a
per-word bases, man, I'm one high-paid writer! Of
course, about 10% of my time is actually spent writing
(typing words), and 90% is spent researching, testing,
proofing, learning, and a whole lot of other "ings"
that don't begin with "writ".
