We would write a script so that when
we send them the next version of pages, all pages that they changed would
not be overwritten.

How would you make sure that important changes get distributed in this scenario?

For example, assume that there is a serious error on one of the help pages that you discover after a few months. Let's further assume that one of your customers already added some notes of his own to that page but did not find and correct the error.

If you sent out a revised page, it wouldn't get installed because the page has been changed by the customer - so the customer is stuck with the error.

How would you avoid this kind of problem?

Regards
Jan Henning
