I believe you can get a dual-pane view of ZIP files in WinXP's Explorer
by clicking the Folders button in the toolbar. If you're seeing the
typical XP Explorer window with commands on the left and files/folders
on the right, clicking Folders gives you the files/folders view in both
panes. (I'd test this, but we have WinZip here at work.)
