In my rush to post a request and get out of the office into the pouring rain, I neglected to attribute the intro paragraph I used to Max Messmer ("author of 'Managing Your Career For Dummies' and 'Job Hunting For Dummies'") at

http://www.bcentral.ca/articles/isyn/default.asp?newsid=20031081

It was from an article called _Lack experience? Be honest about it_ and the link to it was on the msn.ca home page.

And I should have modified "buzzwords" with "meaningless."

Thanks, all, for the input so far.

"COVER LETTER: I saw your recent employment ad online and might be exactly the person you're looking for. I want this job. I've been looking for a job for a long time and am desperate to find a place where I can hang my hat, lose my umbrella, and apply my writing skills to a dynamic and forward-looking teem."

I've agreed to help a cow-orker punch up his résumé (he's a programmer, with exceptional potential in a number of IT fields). I've done the requisite Google searches and found the same-old, same-old. Besides tailoring the achievements for the posted job, refining the goal statement, avoiding buzzwords, and the T-letter to cover requirements, can anyone give me some up-to-date tips on contents, formatting, and so on?
