I will not quibble over your points because they are well taken, and I shall
apologize for being a bit overzealous in my arguments. Passion for one's
work and one's chosen field can be a good thing, but not when it fails to
recognize that many people obtain great competency via different paths.

I wanted to try and defend what I said, but it's not really that defensible
as put, so I'll just offer the feeble excuse that I'm often wont to use
strong language in defense of my passions. I may have to eat humble pie more
often than might be healthy, but I prefer passion over apathy any day of the
week.
