A bid is not a rough estimate. When you name a price to do the work that is ordered, you are taking the risk as to whether you can do the work in the amount of time you think you can. You only get to change the price if you build in a change order process at the outset. That lets you charge for work that you have to do because the client changes their mind or you discover concealed damage in the walls or other impediments to your work that the client has not disclosed to you.

My company has been asked to prepare a bid for mural painting in a daycare center. We have been asked to do one wall in each of 8 rooms and also 400 feet of corridors. I think we have all the pricing down but my request for help comes in actually preparing the bid in an attractive matter, also on what to include and what not to include. For example, do we include a disclosure that this is a rough estimate?; or do we include our deposit requirements?
Thanks
