Inspired by this thread, here's an Edward Tufte-style graphic
representation of the size of TECHWR-L, modeled on both the Posada and
Parul methodologies:

Line 1 shows the Posada Methodology, which allows posts containing
opinions.

Line 2 shows the Parul Methodology, allowing only posts containing
certifiable facts.

1. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
2. X

Well, Parul's approach will certainly cut down on our reading. Me, I'll
stick with the Posadan Adventure.

Things to remember when interacting within a message-board community:

1) It's ALWAYS personal.
2) When people disagree with you - even slightly - it's because THEY HATE
YOU.
3) Always assume the worst possible interpretation of anything posted.
4) NEVER lighten up. This is the Internet, and it's SERIOUS, dammit.
5) Be willing to make the same point again and again. After all, somebody
might have missed it the first six times.
6) Don't dawdle. The sooner you skim through the first paragraph or two
of somebody else's post, the sooner you can attack it.
7) Never quote the post you're responding to. If people are paying
attention, they'll figure it out. Exception: when responding to one
sentence in a 20-paragraph post, include the entire post. You know, for
context.
8) Accurate, self-explanatory subject lines are for wimps.
9) It's not funny unless YOU think it's funny.
10) It's ALWAYS personal.
