That just *has* to be a typo on your supervisor's part. It makes no
sense. It's grammatically fine, but the meaning is changed.
This is worth having another conversation about, in my opinion.

Did you ask if the word he or she was looking for was "fraudulent"? I
would not let this go out as is.
