Most magazines I work with use Quark Express, and a smaller number use Adobe
InDesign. There are extensions to Quark that help with some of the
issues of ad placement. There are also larger, integrated systems
that manage the whole process of ad creation and placement, including
classified ads, such as those from Managing Editor, Inc (www.maned.com)
and other such companies.
