 He was a triple-major - Math, Chemistry, and Biology
- and had a 4.0 average at the time. I told him he was
smart and could figure it out. A few minutes later, he
turned around and showed me 2 buttered pieces of 
plain bread and then asked, "So I just put them in 
the toaster?" I told  him he couldn't do that with the
butter on it and he replied, "But I like butter on my
toast.">

yea, that's why they call it "buttered toast" instead
of "toasted butter".  what happened to common sense? 
i took a year long hiatus from technical writing to
persue a degree in culinary arts and found that
someone will come up with a really stupid "short cut"
for almost every procedure, even in the kitchen.  now
that i'm back behind a computer (hey - someone has to
pay off my student loans) i'm a bit more exacting in
my technical writing.
