I don't think this means much. I've gotten the welcome to
the company lunch from every place I've worked in the
past 15 years. In my last position, there was a group
lunch during the final round of interviews and another my
first week on the job (after that, I was the one with the
expense acct who did all the lunch buying, and yes, I held
a welcome group lunch for every new hire). The place was
still a terrible environment for writers, and I spent the
three years I was there constantly girding for battle to
defend the dept and its members. The one thing I can say
about that place, though, they sure had a good budget for
entertainment.
