Sounds good, Bill. Your thoughts on approaches are all
reasonable, and sound.

Unfortunately, the "mommyfication of management" is
alive and well. Managing using the "stick and stick
approach is alive and well, in allegedly modern
companies as well as the blue-suit ones.

I like your thoughts and approach but, sometimes, it
just ain't so.

again, your points are well made.
