I'm not currently a member, though I may rejoin if the
current incarnation of the company is cool with paying
the membership fee. :-)

What's Region 4, anyway?

Regarding how to communicate about issues, that depends on
whether the communication is intended to be bi-directional
and open, or whether it is intended to be a simple feed
of notices, one-way.

If you are encouraging discussion and participation by the
membership, then. . . look around you.
What works better than a mailing list with archives?
You could offer a subscription option where the Limited
Subscriber receives only your announcements, and not all
the discussion threads that Regular Subscribers would get.
Of course, have a chat with Eric about what you'd be taking
on.

If it's just one-way communication you're interested in,
then post it on the web site, and maybe Eric will let you
publish an announcement once a month or so, reminding
people that there's new stuff to be viewed.

Bill and Jane, over on CE-L (Copyeditors Mailing List) won't
charge you for the privilege of posting occasional announcements
there (as long as you remember to use the Tagging convention).

I'm not sure what the arrangement is on the HATT list.
