Hi Sean,

It's a GUI thing. Why not label the button "Feature On/Off"?

For example, if the button turns on and off Clippy the Intensely Annoying
Word Assistant, label it "Clippy On/Off".

Alternatively, the button could be made into a check box (in the example
above, it would be labeled "Show Clippy"). Users are generally very familiar
with check boxes.
