To clarify my earlier statements, I sent a three-sentence message and
my resume to about 100 companies. Each company got its own
individually addressed message.

I got about four responses that said the company didn't have a current
need but would keep me on file. Just last week one of those companies
wrote to ask for further details for its project file.

It's been very helpful to me to read your assessments of what I did.
Thank you! I can live with the level of spamhood that I have attained.
Technically, sending any unsolicited mail qualifies as spam, athough
most of us don't consider what I did as spam and surely would not
complain to my ISP or anybody else about it.
