They don't seem to be. They just seem to be a by product of a corrupted
word doc.

What I think may have happened is this:

I made a change to a word style ("para") that was variation of the
normal style used by most paragraphs in the doc. I retroactively applied
this style to all object in the doc that used it. Two of those object
included bulleted and numbered text, which were not styled as such. The
previous writer just applied the "para" style and clicked the number or
the bullet icon on the Word menu bar to create a bulleted or a numbered
list . Consequently, I think when I made a change to the "para" style
used by the bulleted and numbered list, I eliminated all the bulleted
and numbered lists that used the para style.

Another problem: As I attempt to fix this issue, I seem to be creating
different versions of the "para" style and would like to stop doing
this.

In short, I want my bullets and numbers to work correctly and to stop
creating new "para" styles.

I am using Word 2002 on Windows XP Professional.

If anyone can help me, I promise will never use Word for a long doc
again J
