In many circumstances you can't rely on the typeface alone. To a reader not
versed in the finer points of typography, punctuation marks in different
fonts can look very similar. I don't think I could tell the difference
between full stops (which might quite legitimately come at the end of UNIX
paths, for example) even in two very dissimilar fonts such as Courier and
