TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I think the calendar looks fine, particularly when you warn them in
advance what it is. I do think the copy is a bit too sexist to be
appropriate for use in a samples portfolio. If you change "perfect and
delectable as succulent peaches ready to be bitten into" into something
more technical and detached, I think you'll be fine.
Also, is this the ONLY sample you have of your design work? If not, I'd
lead off with something else, and only get to this if they keep asking to
same gig, same pay, new company name. woohoo.
