Yet now when I'm trying to learn FrameMaker (7.0) I can neither find
its online help guiding enough for totally illiterate like me to start
with, nor do I know how to proceed in BOOKS, STRUCTURED DOCUMENTS etc.

Perhaps I'm going to sound a bit useless, but I picked up Framemaker on
my own in a week. My background, though, included use of markup languages
(SGML-type stuff and troff) as well as some amount of computer programming.

In Frame the key concept is to understand the structural entities with
which you are supposed to work. For instance, if all user input text is
supposed to appear in boldface, there should be a defined format for
"user input" that will render it that way. Yes, you can just mark the
text as bold, but that's a non-Frame approach. In most environments a
library of formats and templates already exists. Unfortunately, many
such libraries are hopeless kludges put together with little thought,
often by competing groups working within the same project. (I had to
deal with such a library that was made in New Jersey and North Carolina
simultaneously, with little cross-communication. It was huge and contained
lots of duplicated and unnecessary stuff that had to be sorted out
or ignored.)

Try to find the O'Reilly books about Frammaker. That's where I found
the best info. They tend to have a lot of meat, not just annotated
screen shots.

Others will have better information for you that offers more hope.
Good luck!
