Just some thoughts...

1. Look to sites like Sun's Java site. They do not color their code.

2. All code editors I am familiar with allow the user to make changes to the color scheme, so that if there is a disability problem (such as red-green colorblindness), they can adjust for it if they wish. If your publishing medium will not offer the same capability, why go there?

Oh, the joys of having a micromanager.
The tools I am documenting require me to include software code. Our
editor has color highlighting (red, blue, green), which will be familiar
to many of you. My manager wants me to use the same color highlighting
in the documentation (and online help).
