Good idea, but if I recall correctly from previous posts, Elizabeth is

in the med writing arena (as am I), which means that sign-offs are exactly that--real signatures, so it will have to "go paper" eventually, anyway. The method I suggested allows for the sign-off and review in one fell swoop, thus eliminating the need to bring people within 24 hours paper copies of the same document that they've already invested many hours doing electronically. For med/pharm writers, the actual sign-off holds as much importance as the completed document itself (albeit for other reasons), which, I imagine, is quite different from many process used by TWRLers in other fields.

I know electronic signatures are a possibility, but not all workplaces have implemented them [yet]. Until then, a strong paper-based process in unavoidable for many of us.

Is it really necessary to move to paper review as others have suggested?

Could you not create copies of the Word file with all current revision tracking removed and then track the revisions of each individual reviewer in separate files?

Then, when the reviewers are finished (end of today?) you can view the changes of each reviewer and check for conflicts. Tomorrow, schedule a meeting if needed to resolve conflicting comments/revisions. But, I'd warn against having a large meeting. Try and resolve as many issues as possible one-on-one with reviewers or in small meetings with only the reviewers whose comments conflict.
