Hi Al,
I have used Pagemaker quite extensively and have now moved to Indesign. I
have used it fleetingly for the past few months now and from the learning
point of view, the transition has been very smooth with minimum effort from
my side. The "table" problem has been addressed very well in in-design along
with a lot of other features which were definitely an "yes-yes" from the
publishing point of view.
If you have been using Pagemaker for making documents and books, you will
definitely reap benefits from the upgrade. Indesign has been launched to
counter the Quark monopoly in the publishing market and if the DTP guys are
to be believed, Adobe has made the jump very well.
Thanks,
Preran
