Let's get this straight, I don't want the job! I'm busy. Which is where I believe the phone call started to go badly. I just wondered if I should hunt her boss down and put in a complaint (I do that at grocery stores, restaurants, even Proex--and we get free meals, free groceries, and this year $100 worth of free photo Christmas Cards!).

So, the real question for those of you sidelined by the minutiae is SHOULD I COMPLAIN or not?

So just bypass the recruiter. If you know your local market well it
shouldn't be too hard to identify the client, network your way in
directly, and get the job. It would be much sweeter to call the AR's
boss and complain *after* you get the job.
Also, see if this job is available via some other agency. It's common
these days for companies to hand out their job reqs to multiple
recruiters.
