To Patricia's comments:

I'd like not to leave the impression that I think "introverted" people don't
work hard or that they aren't making an effort to think of others.

"Introverted" or "extroverted" are labels that cover varying degrees.
"Working hard" may also be in varying degrees. For some people, it's twice
the amount of work to "mingle socially" than it is for me. I'd like to say,
though, that for all of us, it can feel a lot like pushing a rock uphill
until we get to a point of feeling "safe." Some of us don't want to deal
with all the "rock pushing." One tried and true method to get past the "rock
pushing" stage is to put ourselves in others place and try to make the
others feel at ease. Not that we are self-centered, just that we are
sometimes in a situation in which we are "challenged."

I agree completely with good managers working with all personality types.
