I have a new laptop, which of course means problems -- Windows XP sp1,
Acrobat 6 Standard, Word 2003.

I am trying to PDF a Word document that uses a Helvetica font. Looks
fine on my PC, reviewers see it in a different font. I have "do not send
fonts to PDF" unchecked, and "embed fonts" checked. However, when I try
to specifically embed Helvetica, it says that the license forbids
embedding the font. I don't think I've ever seen such a warning before.
My reviewer can see a previous version of the document, created by
someone else, correctly, which seems to rule out the possibility that
it's her lack of Helvetica that's the problem. I had someone else check
the PDF document properties, and the correct font is listed (along with
the substitution). I can send the Word document to people and they see
it correctly, even if they don't have Helvetica installed.

I have been lucky so far in life not to have to wrestle with too many
font problems, and I'm really at a loss. Has anyone run into a similar
problem before? Has something changed in Windows font management with
XP, or Acrobat with version 6, so that it was previously possible to
embed a font but not now? Is there a setting I should be checking? All
help greatly appreciated!
