Let me ask a different question.

Someone, somewhere in Adobe knows if the application is being kept at
least for a while or being disbanded. In light of how many people
must have jetisoned FM because of the uncertainty, would it be so
wrong, if it is being kept, to simply say so?

I know...I'm going to hear "It is not our policy...." However, policy
is made and policy can be changed.
