Well, actually, I just did. I have two "process documents" in-house.
One is a fairly typical "quality manual" type procedure that details
to my writers the internal process of creating documents. The other
is a checklist of milestones that our Operations group inserts into
the MS Project files of every new project at kick-off and then dings
the engineering managers on at the weekly status meeting along with
all the other steps in the development process. It works because our
company and project management that has made crossing all the t's
and dotting all the i's in the design process a priority.

Dude, write this up and publish it. I'll buy it. Sounds much more practical than the Hackos book, although I do give Hackos props for at least *trying* to organize tech pubs.
