Bonnie Granat wonders: <<An old client is asking about my interest in converting several product manuals from PageMaker to Microsoft Word. Searching on "PageMaker Word convert" produces nothing useful, and from what I can gather from my Googling, the PageMaker files need to be exported as RTF files>>

That's the way to do it. If memory serves (it's been a while), each "story" must be exported separately; I don't believe there's an "export all" function that lets you do that in a single step. If there's only one story, which is often the case, this isn't a problem. If there are multiple stories, the only trick is to make sure that you get them all.

<<and the graphics need to be reinserted into the Word document after it is created from the RTFs.>>

That's my recollection. If they did the job right, they have separate (original) copies of the graphics outside PM, so this should be no problem. If they didn't, I'm not sure how to export graphics from PM. You could always try the "save as Web page" option, which usually converts graphics into GIFs or PNGs in other software and may do the same in PM.
