My experience as a manager is that employees seldom choose to
seek other opportunities strictly on the basis of salary. The
decision to look elsewhere is usually the result of some other
dissatisfaction, and salary is just what causes them to choose
one new opportunity over another (which often leads to them not
being happy because they didn't choose their new opportunity based on whatever reason caused them to leave their old job).

You need to consider what it was that caused you to decide to
go jobhunting in the first place. Do you not like your boss or
coworkers, think your company is heading down a sinkhole, etc.?
Or just generally feel unappreciated (if you feel underpaid, this
may just be a symptom of that). Keep in mind that your current
company does appear to recognize that they need to adjust your
compensation, and while being the sole TW does means that there is less guidance and support, it also means that you are
probably in a good position to chart your company's documentation future and move up to a leadership position,
should that be your eventual career goal. In these areas, any
new company you may consider will always be an unknown.
