Another reason one might want to convert a graphic to a .pdf might be

Ahh, but I'm a true disbeliever, you see. PDF's not an open format. AutoCAD? Three words: PNG. Editable? Three more words: SVG. Formatted text? OO.o

It ain't exactly easy opposing Microsoft *and* Adobe, ya know, but somebody's gotta fight the good fight until the masses snap out of it. Once again, European masses rise earlier.

Tim Bray, to the EU:

"You should have the right to own your own information.
It’s your intellectual capital and you worked hard to
produce it for your citizens. Sun doesn’t own it,
Microsoft doesn’t own it, you own it, and that means
it should be living in a nice, long-lived,
non-proprietary data format that isn’t anyone’s
competitive weapon."
