Actually, I think it is most times; the environments we have been describing are the extreme cases. Many companies
either don't really have a clear vision of what they want a
writer to do for them, or have a prior history of writers
with a wide range of capability and are looking to you to
demonstrate that you are worth the higher rates to them. This can be a tough challenge for someone seeking direct positions, but good oportunities for an independent contractor.
