Those of you who are interested in certification in general may be
interested in what's happening in Europe. A team of representatives
from European technical writing societies, together with academics who
teach tech writing, have recently published a document outlining
guidelines and competencies for technical writer training.

You can download the report from:
http://www.tceurope.org/tecdocnet/tecdocnet_index.htm

(Of course, I doubt whether any TW qualification would satisfy some of
the developers I've had to work with in the past...)
