The only automatic setting I know of is the one in the Option/Print dialog
that will update all the fields in your document at printing. If you want to
automatically update all the fields at other times, such as opening a file,
saving, etc., I think you would need to use a macro.

right-click and select "Update Field". I would like this to occur
automatically when I save a document. If possible in locked forms as well,
