Is someone going to come by and slap you with a herring if you use it? ;-)

I prefer the first as well, because whether or not is follows a
natural major-minor root pentatonic with slight vibrato, it makes
sense in written form as to where to find the info.

If in the end you fear the herring, I'd say the last example is a far
second choice, with the middle example being right out.
