Hi Martin,

In some companies I've worked at, importance could be determined by
whether that person had a wooden desk as opposed to Formica, so having a
private office would make rank you up with senior management. So chipper
up--while having your own office may seem to be putting on airs, it can
also enhance your mystique, perhaps giving you the air of an irreplaceable
resource ;)

You're in an ideal situation, people are watching you waiting to see if
you're worth the all the attention. So enjoy the privacy, produce manuals
like crazy, and prove them correct!
