Are you people NUTS?!? I work hard for my vacation. Vacation is for a
break from work related activities. If I want to learn something new on
vacation it is something OUTSIDE my professional life.

Add to the fact that during my work life (which eats plenty of the time
away from my family as it is) I learn continuously. Why should I waste
money on packaged courses?

What's the ROI of 3 weeks spent with your undivided attention on your
spouse and children? The value is priceless and the return is infinite.
Those that CAN put a price on it are less than human IMO and/or in need of
psychological help.

Why should I spend thousands of dollars on "training" that won't even
reach the level I'm already at?

Those discussing certification sound more like they're trying to legislate
workaholism.

And, if those are already your standards, why the bee in your bonnet about
certifications? Your work should speak for itself and your reputation and
references should put you miles above the competition.
