That's like asking what the best kind of car is, or the best kind of food.

Where is your content today? What do you want to produce? What are
your timeframes? What are your price points? Checkout and for some

They advertise in the STC magazine and seem to have committed a) to a
RoboHelp converter and b) to being somewhat open about their
development plans for the future, so you, the purchaser, can feel more
confident about your purchase. I've not used this.

Alpha software. Who knows? Maybe it'll even come to market <g>.

A (proprietary?) database-based tool. You'd manage your content in
AuthorIt and output from there. As far as I know, content for print
goes from AuthorIt to RTF through Word to PDF.

Lets you maintain your content in Word. So, your PDFs come from Word
directly and your online help comes from Word and is converted by
ePublisher Pro. Quadralay's been around for years, though ePublisher
Pro is a very new offering. Supposedly, ePublisher Pro uses XML
structure at its core, whatever that means. I have enjoyed using
previous versions of this product with FrameMaker, but I cannot speak
to the latest iteration.

Remember, this is online. Take everything with a mine of salt and a grin.
