Export select rows only from Excel to use in documentation

Can anyone help me automate export of parameter info from Excel for import
into table is FM. Please CC me.
 
Current Situation:
1. I automatically separate out the relevent columns to a separate worksheet
(defined in Excel).
2. I use a separate column to mark which rows I need for which worksheet.
All rows appear in the worksheet (relevant ones with text - other are
blank).
3. I save the worksheet as a tab delimited file.
4. I import the .txt file into FrameMaker and save as text. The table is
fine except that I am stuck with all of the blank lines. 
 
 
Needed Mechanism:
1. I want to automatically remove all of the blank lines either inside the
Excel file or when I export (save as).
2. I also want to add a bracket to the start and end of one of the cell
values in the worksheet.
 
 
Excel Formmula Used:
=IF(T(Sheet1!G2)="3-Common",T(Sheet1!A2),"")
 
 
Explanation of Formula: 
 
  G is the sort column.
 
  "3-Common" is the value to find.
 
  T(Sheet1!A2),"")    places the relevant text into the worksheet field if
"3-Common" is found.
 
  ""     keeps the cell empty if "3-Common" is not found.
