Glen,
Corel Ventura is very good for long publications, with complete control
over page layout, flexible frame anchoring, running headers and footers,
cross referencing, paragraph numbering, etc. I have used it to create
thousands of pages of printed manuals ranging up to 250 pages. It's very
easy to design a page layout, then add text and anchored graphics as
needed. The fact that none of my print vendors have Ventura in-house has
not been an issue since I provide them PDF. Unfortunately, you won't get a
lot of support directly from Corel butthere is a very helpful newsgroup at
news://cnews.corel.com/corel.Ventura10.
