For some strange (historic, where here is not the time to go into it)
reason we are working with Macromedia Fireworks for light graphic
editing.
I was using its batch feature to make changes in a large number of files.
I have version 4, since I recently installed it into my XP system
(rather than Windows 2000), it insists on making all filenames only 8
characters.
Is any one familiar with this application and can tell me why or what
could be wrong?

Thanks
