To expand... or "Click to expand" / not "Expand by clicking"

Some confusion re. active voice but the idea here
is, if the choice is with the user whether to
expand or not, option B (but not Expand by
clicking - which implies the user has no choice)

> sign.

Butif the procedure requires expanding (and then
doing something else) and the user has no choice,
then...

- Click the plus sign.
- Right-click another folder.
- blah
